Suicide Prevention Month

Aug. 26, 2020

In 2019, there were 400 deaths by suicide in Singapore.

This suicide prevention month in September, we are calling upon Singapore to show their willingness to be a pillar of support to those around them.

Together, we can make someone’s journey a little less lonely.
This year, the world experienced the drastic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy and our social and emotional well-being. This pandemic not only pulled us physically away from our loved ones, but also brought feelings of distress closer, especially to vulnerable individuals who walk the difficult path alone.

This inaugural #HOWRU Virtual Walkathon aims to bring the community together to show solidarity to people who are struggling and express our determination to leave no one behind. While we may not promise there will not be bumps and hurdles in your journey, we promise that you don’t have to face them alone.

#HOWRU may be familiar to some as an icon that represents the first step toward opening conversations around suicide prevention in Singapore.

Together, let’s tell everyone that WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE ALONE.
